SS-31 (Elamipretide/Bendavia) is a mitochondrial-targeted tetrapeptide that binds to cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane, protecting it from oxidative damage and optimizing ATP production.
FDA-approved (September 2025 as FORZINITY for Barth syndrome).
Mechanism:
Selectively protects cardiolipin, prevents lipid peroxidation, optimizes electron transport chain function — directly improves cellular energy without traditional antioxidant side effects.
Injectable dosing for 10mg:
- General mitochondrial support: 5-10mg once daily SubQ
- Athletic performance: 10-20mg once daily pre-workout SubQ
- Clinical protocols: 40mg once daily SubQ or IV Quick start: 10mg once daily, morning preferred (or pre-workout for performance).
